Karen is a native New Englander, born and raised in Massaschusetts.  Before coming to Gallaudet in 1979, Karen worked as a houseparent at a residential school for the deaf, as a certified interpreter in the community, and as a rehabilitation counselor.  Karen has spent most of her years at Gallaudet in the Academic Advising office where she enjoys working with a diverse group of college age students helping them make the important adjustment to college as well as providing academic and career advising services to them.
