Major Declaration

When students begin to express interest in a certain major, usually during their sophomore year, they are encouraged to meet with faculty members/chairperson from that department to discuss about their preferred major.  After meeting with the department, and students make a decision about their major, they should  meet with their Academic Advisor to discuss remaining general requirements and request a Major declaration form. Students must obtain signatures  from the new major academic advisor, the chairperson of the department, and the current academic advisor.

Students will bring the completed  declaration form to the Registrars Office.  Once the Registrars Office has entered the information into their database and "date-stamps" the major declaration form, they must bring the GOLD COPY back to Academic Advisor.  After the process is completed,  the academic file  is sent to the new Major Advisor to track students' degree progress until graduation.
